Murphy, 88, of Sulphur, died Thursday, May 25, after a short illness. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. W. N. Newton, and Mrs. E. E. Ward, both of Beaumont, and Mrs. L. G. Ruhnke, and Mrs. Ralph Salter, both of Sulphur; four brothers, Lawrence Murphy of Rosepine, Leroy Murphy of Hope, Ark., Allen Murphy of Lockport, Ill., and Marvin Murphy of Sapulpa, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Sula Bunkley of Hornbeck, Miss Lucille Murphy of Washington, D. C.; eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Mr. Murphy was a former resident of Anacoco, and his body was taken to the United Pentecost Church of Anacoco at 8:30 a.m., Saturday morning, to lie in state until service time. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., in the Anacoco United Penticost Church Saturday, May 27, with the Rev. Free officiating. Burial was in the Mitchell Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
