  15 Jul 1955 - Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Ella Slay
Murphey, 63, of Hornbeck, who passed away at DeRidder Monday,
July 11, after a brief illness was conducted at the Bible Baptist
church in Hornbeck at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 12 with Rev. M.
G. Rachel officiating assisted by Rev. H. E. Chance.

  Interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Toro, under the
direction of Hixon Funeral home of DeRidder.

  Survivors are her husband, M. L. Murphey, Hornbeck, two
sons, Melvin Murphey, Shreveport; Felton Murphey, DeRidder; one
daughter, Mrs. Vaughn Gentry of Ft. Worth, Texas; her mother,
Mrs. W. A. Slay of Many, eight sisters, Mrs. Mabel Vidler,
Sanger, Calif.; Mrs. Bertha Salter, Hornbeck; Mrs. Carrie
Westbrook, Mrs. Maude Thedford, Mrs. Lee Wagley, Mrs. Louise
Wagley, all of Many; Mrs. Linda Paynes, El Dorado, Ark., Mrs.
Allie Sirman, Logansport; two brothers, Dan Slay, Many; Alvin
Slay, Leesville.
