Wayne DuBose officiating, assisted by Rev. Eddie DeHondt, both of Summer Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Juanita H. Murphey; one daughter, Peggy M. Stockard and husband Dr. James Stockard of Montgomery, Ala.; daughter-in-law, Frances B. Murphey of Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. Vaughn M. Gentry of Ft. Worth, Tex.; grandchildren, Karen Mills and husband Tom of Orlando, Fla., Renee Wainwright of Lawndale, Calif., Kathie Riggle and husband Dave of Los Altos, DA?, Jennifer Huckaby and husband Dr. Tom Huckaby of Orlando, Fla., and James Stockard III of Montgomery, Ala. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren, and two nieces. Other survivors are four aunts of Many, La. They are Mrs. Maude Thedford, Mrs. Allie Sirmon, Mrs. Lee Wagley, and Mrs. Louise Wagley. Mr. Murphey was an active member of Summer Grove Baptist Church, where he taught an adult men's Sunday School class until his illness. A former member of Willow Point Baptist Church, he taught a men's class there for 30 years. He retired from K. C. S. Railroad after 44 years as a machinist. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Past Master of Lodge #418, and a member of the Scottish Rite Consistory.
