Morse, 61, a retired blacksmith, died at 5:30 a.m., Sept. 30, at Confederate Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. Mr. Morse was a lifetime resident of the city. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow; on son, Denver Morse of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Inez Moulton, and Mrs. Valdene Scoggins, both of Blanchard; two sisters, Mrs. Velmer Richey of Pelican, and Mrs. Syble Land of Shreveport; his father, Zoe Morse of Oak Grove; two brothers, J. E. Morse of Zwolle, and Alvin Morse of California, and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:30, Oct. 2, in Rose Neath Funeral Home in Shreveport. Burial was in Salem Cemetery near Plain Dealing, La.
