The Sabine Index - Elijah Miers

  17 Jun 1949 - Elijah Miers, 61, native of Merryville, passed
away at his home in DeRidder Rt. 3, at 11:40 a.m. June 6. Funeral
services were conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, by Revs. G. J.
Jones and Farley Green. Interment followed in Hopewell cemetery
under direction Hixon funeral home.

  Pallbearers were: David Brown, Charles Cooley, Marvin Bailey,
Audrey Green, Dan Green and A. J. Cooley.

  Surviving relatives include: mother, Mrs. Josephine
Miers, Florien; aunt, Mrs. Elza Craft, Merryville; uncles, Ott
and Pete Hickman, both of DeRidder; brothers and sisters, Arthur
Miers, Mrs. Lena Dunn, Ben and Lemuel Miers, all of Florien, Mrs.
Lola Marze, Jehome Miers, Mrs. Odessa Marze and Louell Miers, all
of Anacoco, and Mark Miers, Bossier city.

  Mr. Miers had never been married and had made his home
with Aunt Lavonia Green for over 34 years.
