Burial was at Restland Memorial Park on Greenville Avenue. Rose Marie, a native of Many, was called to be with the Lord on November 19, at Baylor Hospital, after a battle with brain cancer. She was born July 30, 1936, in Marthaville. She graduated from Northwestern State College in 1957, with a BS in Home Economics, and completed her Masters at SMU in 1977. While at Northwestern, she was president of Alpha Sigma Alpha, and the Panhelenic Council; a member of the Student Senate, and the Yearbook Staff. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Sabine Chapter #171, located in Many. Rose served as a home demonstration agent in Morris County, Tex., before beginning her 29 year teaching career with the Garland Independent School District, mainly at North Garland High School. Survivors include her husband, James Howard Morriss; her daughter and son-in-law, Brent Howard and Kelly Morris of Kansas City; mother Vera B. Campbell; father and stepmother, O. B. and Rubye Leigh Campbell; brother, Larry W. Campbell, all of Many; and sister, Deborah C. Walker of Shreveport.
