R. Tommy Miers

  R. Tommy Miers, 42, of DeRidder, died in DeRidder Friday, Nov.
24, after suffering a heart attack.

  Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Nov. 26, at Pine Ridge
Baptist Church of DeRidder, with the Rev. Iving Simineaux, and
the Rev. Ernest Lord officiating. Interment was in the Beauregard
Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder.

  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lena McMillan Miers of
Hornbeck; two daughters, Mrs. Tommie Jeanne Bosarge of Bayou
LaBatre, Ala., and Miss Patricia Miers of Texas City, Tex.; two
sons, Tommy Miers of DeRidder, and Michael Miers of Texas City;
also four step daughters, Mrs. Bobby Graham of Many, Mrs. Kenneth
Wright of Hornbeck, Miss Kayla Abbott of Hornbeck, and Miss
Dianne Dryer of Houston, Tex.; two step sons, Cecil Al Abbott Jr.
of Hornbeck, and Donald Abbott of the U. S. Marines in Okinawa;
his mother, Mrs. Harry Miers of DeRidder; one grandchild; and
five step grandchildren.
