Morgan Services were conducted at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, La., for Mr. A. C. Morgan, 81, of Shreveport, Wednesday, January 20, 1993, at 2 p.m. Officiating was the Rev. Jim Van Hook of Ellerbe Road United Methodist Church, where Mr. Morgan was a member. Interment followed in Centuries Memorial Park. He entered into rest Monday, January 18, 1993, at Willis-Knighton Hospital, after a brief illness. Mr. Morgan was a native of Many, La., and lived in Shreveport most of his life. Mr. Morgan served in the Sea-Bees in the Philippines, and Newfoundland, during WWII. Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Mae Morgan; four brothers, Levi, Russell, Paul, and Lester; and three sisters, Trudy, Alma, and Louise. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Mrs. Doris Bolt Morgan; son, Barry Wayne Morgan and wife June of Keithville; daughter, Rita Morgan Darnell and husband Bo of Mansfield; brother, Wayne N. Morgan of Noble, La.; and a sister, Audrey Morgan Patterson of Bossier City; grandchildren, Tim and wife Jennifer, Jay, Chris, Nick, and Josh Morgan, and Samantha Miller and husband Roger; great grandchildren, Timothy Jr., Cody Lynn and James Chapman; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Tim Morgan, Jay Morgan, Don Morgan, Johnny Morgan, Mike Maines, Roger Holman, Buddy Compton, and Charles Thompson. Junior pallbearers were Chris Morgan, Nick Morgan, and Josh Morgan. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association, or to the Ellerbe Road United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
