Marcantel, 72, died Oct. 15, in Many. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Oct. 17, at the Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy, with interment following at Masonic Cemetery. The Rev. G. David Hennigan, C. J. Walea, and the Rev. Jeff Hennigan officiated. Mr. Marcantel was a lifelong resident of DeQuincy. He was a 1946 DeQuincy High School graduate, and attended LSU School of Banking, as well as various other financial and banking institutions over the years. He was an officer and banker for Calcasieu Marine Banks from 1947 - 1970, Allen State Bank 1971- 1974, as well as Highlands State Bank of Houston, for a number of years. He was employed with Cinco Finance until retirement. He held a State Insurance License, and was a former member of the Lyons Club, and Rotary Club of DeQuincy. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy, where he was past Sunday School Superintendent, and singer/soloist with the Marcantel Trio, and Marcantel Family. Survivors include his widow, Louise Marcantel of DeQuincy; son, Vaughn Marcantel of DeQuincy; daughters, Linda Walea of Many, and Wanda Vanover of Alexandria; sisters, "Bill" Perkins of DeRidder, "Deanie" Bachelor of DeQuincy, and Cheryl Mayo of DeQuincy; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
