  Melvin Merritt

  Funeral services were held for Melvin Pascal Merritt, 57, of
Many Tuesday, August 7, at 2 p.m. in the Pendleton Assembly of
God. The Rev. B. L. Denkins and the Rev. Woodrow Hall officiated
with burial following in the church cemetery under the direction
of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Merritt, who died Aug. 5, is survived by his wife; three sons,
Pascal Melvin, Telvin and Oscar Merritt all of many; one foster
son, Rodney Beshers, Many; three daughters, Mrs. Lawanda Hayes,
Bridge City, Tex.; Mrs. Sonya Knippers, Many; and Mrs. Glenda
Kilcrease, Houston; four brothers, Holman Merritt, Shreveport;
Robert Merritt, Sulphur; Bill Merritt of Hemphill; and Lovell
Merritt of Many; one half sister, Mrs. Emmitt Peterson, DeRidder
and 10 grandchildren.
