Pat Merritt (Photo)

  Pat Merritt, 66, died Oct. 17, 2002, at his residence in
Marthaville.

  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Oct. 21, at Rebel State
Park, with interment following at Pendleton Cemetery. Father Mike
Manase, and Father Antony Aelavanthara officiated.

  Survivors include his widow, Mary Elizabeth Merritt of
Marthaville; four sons, Kurt Pascal Merritt, and Dustin Gaines
Merritt, both of Florien, Milton Arthur Merritt of Marthaville,
and Dillon James Merritt of Robeline; sister, Lawanda Hayes of
Bridge City, Texas; two brothers, Telvin, and Oscar Lavan
Merritt, both of Negreet; eight grandchildren; and a host of
nieces, nephews, and friends.

  Pallbearers were Shanon Gandy, Argus Moore, Charles Pilcher,
Billy Guay, Bob Hines, Roger Cooper, Shirley Willis, and Don
Hildebrand.
