Ben Martin

  Mr. Ben Martin, 86, of Shreveport, died Wednesday, Mar. 1, after a
short illness.

  Funeral services were held in the Pinegrove Baptist Church, Friday,
March 3, at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Robert Richardson, the Rev. Lynn
Jones, and the Rev. Loftin officiating. Burial was in the Pinegrove
Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Mr. Martin is survived by three sons, Luther Martin of Shreveport,
Chester Martin of Natchitoches, and the Rev. Efton Martin of DeBerry,
Tex.; four daughters, Mrs. Effie Lee of Leesville, Mrs. Avis Buckoiz
of Enid, Okla., Mrs. Vera Babin of Lake Charles, and Mrs. Doris Ward
of Freemont, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Amy Airhart of Kisatchie, and
Mrs. America Blackwell of Simpson; 21 grandchildren, and 30
great-grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were his grandsons.
