All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Logan Meredith "Buddy" Martin, Jr. Services for Mr. Logan Meredith "Buddy" Martin, Jr., 35, of Dallas, were held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, July 7, at the Osborn Funeral Home Chapel in Shreveport, La. Dr. D. L. Dykes, Dr. Jim Moore, and the Rev. Carl Rhodes of the First United Methodist Church of Shreveport, where Mr. Martin was a member, officiated. Burial was at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport. Mr. Martin, a native and former resident of Shreveport, died Wednesday, July 4, 1984, at his residence in Dallas, after a sudden illness. He was a graduate of Benton, La. High School, and attended L.S.U., Baton Rouge, and Juliard School of Music in New York City. Mr. Martin, a real estate adjuster, a resident of Dallas for several years, had been active in the Dallas Theatre Center, and the art theatres in New York and Los Angeles. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Logan Meredith Martin, Sr. of Shreveport; seven aunts, Mrs. M. B. Thomas of Vivian, La., Mrs. A. L. Barr of Shreveport, Mrs. O. W. Barr of Many, La., Mrs. Ward Benoit of Liberty, Texas, Mrs. R. L. Sims of Yantis, Texas, Mrs. J. C. Jimmerson of Henderson, Texas, and Mrs. A. L. Mears of Minden, La.; and several uncles and cousins. Pallbearers were Cameron Barr, J. T. Timmons, David Maxwell, Greg Horne, Charles Diven, Tom Gray, and Chris Bourcier. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. T. B. Tooke, Dr. Charles E. Anderson, and Dr. Jerome Snyder. Family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church Performing Arts Center.
