Morton, 77, were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 29, at Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Interment followed in Beulah Baptist Church, under the direction of Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Dr. James M. Morton Jr., Rev. Michael Johnson, and Rev. Elmer Pinder officiated. She died July 27, at HCA Highland Hospital in Shreveport. Mrs. Morton was a native of Sabine Parish, a homemaker, and a member of the Beulah Baptist Church near Mansfield. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Johnnie and Alfred Stennett of Pelican, Ray Gamble of Mansfield, Kathryn Delouce, and Bill Lain of Lufkin, Texas, Helen and Bob Elliott of Mansfield, Dr. James M. Morton Jr. and wife Ginger of Livermore, California, Doris and Bob Meredith of Mansfield, William H. "Bill" Morton of Mansfield, Martha and Joe Sayers of Mansfield, Frances and Bryan Norwood of Duncanville, Texas; brothers and sisters, Clara Worsham of Mansfield, Lora Love Cassell, Leroy Worsham, Minnieola Rutherford, all of Converse; two half sisters, Viola Burr, and Betty Lowe; nineteen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Morton was preceded in death by her husband, James Millard Morton Sr. Pallbearers include Alfred Stennett, Bill Lain, Bob Elliott, Bob Meredith, Joe Sayers, Bryan Norwood Jr. Memorials may be made to the La. Baptist Children's Home, Beulah Baptist Cemetery Assn., in care of 1st National Bank in Mansfield.
