  F. A. Merten - May 5, 1988

  Memorial services for F. A. Merten of the Aimwell community will
be held at the Aimwell Baptist Church on Saturday, May 7 at 1:30
p.m. The Rev. Steve Neesley and Bro. Charles Duncan will
officiate.

  Mr. Merten died in the Memorial Southwest Hospital in Houston,
Tex. following a lengthy illness.

  He moved to Sabine in 1972 and retired from the VA Hospital in
Pineville the following year.

  Survivors include his widow, Cecil Spring Merten; three sons,
Gary Merten of Aimwell community, Joe and Fred Merten of Houston;
and six grandchildren.
