Gladys Elizabeth Martin

  Gladys Elizabeth Martin, 84, of Athens, Texas, died Wednesday,
May 30, 2001, at Park Highland Hospital.

  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., June 2, at Warren Meadows
Chapel, with interment following at Florien Cemetery. The Rev.
Cyle Clayton officiated.

  Survivors include son, Wayne Martin and wife Gloria of Athens,
Texas; three brothers, J. A. Frantom, and J. T. Frantom, both of
Vivian, and Lawrence Frantom of Pineville; two sisters, Earle
Smithy of Mt. Carmel, and Violet Stanley of Kisatchie; eight
grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and a
host of friends.

  She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Efton Martin;
and her daughter and son-in-law, Edith and Ray Williams.

  Pallbearers were her grandsons.

  Memorial gifts may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Many.
