Roy Eldred Martinez

  Mulhearn Funeral Home, Starlington Rd., Monroe, La.

  Services for Roy Eldred Martinez, 69, of Monroe, were held at
10:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 27, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic
Church, with Msgr. Edmund Moore, Msgr. Warren Larroque, Msgr.
George Martinez officiated. Burial was held at Memorial Park
Mausoleum. Under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home,
Starlington Rd., Monroe.

  Mr. Martinez died Jan. 25, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center
in Monroe, following a brief illness.

  Mr. Martinez was a Member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic
Church. He was past American Legion Commander, Justice of the
Peace, Boy Scout Leader, and CCD Teacher. He started Zwolle
Merchants Association. He was employed by Manville for 33 years,
and was the general manager of the Lumber Division.

  Survivors include his wife, Mary Lois Martinez of Monroe; one
son, Roy M. Martinez of Winnfield; two daughters, Sharon Martinez
Shelton of Miami, Florida, Gail M. Guidry; three brothers, Msgr.
George W. Martinez of Monroe, Joseph P. Martinez of Baton Rouge,
Steve M. Martinez of St. Louis Missouri; sister, Teresa M.
Martinez of Cerol, La.; five grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were Jack Green, Ken Hebert, Jimmy Russel, Walter
Leding, Dean Hebert, and Dr. Stevie Russel.

  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
