All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Corina Christelle Martinez (Photo) Funeral services (Mass), for Corina Christelle Martinez, 19, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, were held Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1996, at 4 p.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Officiating was Father David Richter. Interment was at St. Joseph's Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Miss Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene, Saturday morning, Dec. 28, 1996, when she was thrown from her car in a two vehicle accident on Interstate 20 near Abilene, Texas. Corina had been taking her brothers, John Allen Martinez Jr., 16, and 11 year old Glenn Patrick Martinez back to Louisiana, after they visited their mother for the holidays in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Corina was born May 21, 1978, in Landstuhl, Germany. Through the Military Ordinariate, she was baptized Jun 30, 1978, at Zweibrucken Air Base Chapel in Zweibrucken, Germany. At age 4 she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and resided there three years. From December 1985 to November 1989, she lived in Edwards, Calif. She then moved with her family to Adana, Turkey, residing there from 1989-1992. During this period, she briefly lived in Zwolle from January to July 1991, while her father was serving in the Persian Gulf War. She then returned to Turkey for another year, and in July 1992, she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico with her mother, sister, and two brothers. From 1994 to 1996, she lived with her father in Albuquerque. Corina had a great love for children, and was employed as a teacher/day care attendant with Downtown Day Care Center in Albuquerque. Having lived and traveled many places throughout the world, Corina had many friends everywhere. Corina had a special love for all animals. The things she enjoyed most was dancing, country music, and horseback riding. Her greatest dream was to someday marry a Rodeo Cowboy, have several children, and own a ranch with horses. She was always smiling, very tender hearted, and always caring for others' well being, and wanted to help everyone. She had a very special giggle, and cheeriness that will be greatly missed by family and friends. She enjoyed a close friendship with, and special love for her sister and brothers. She is survived by her father, John A. Martinez; two brothers, John A. Martinez Jr., and Glenn Patrick Martinez, all of Zwolle; her mother, Charlotte D. Wilson; one sister, Kelly Charlene Martinez-Blea, both of Albuquerque, N. M.; and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Gilbert Martinez of Zwolle. Pallbearers were Robert (Bo) Leone, Alfred Blea, Dennis Piehler, Danile Parrie, Lamar Simpson, and Robert Parrie.
