All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Albert Martinez Mr. Albert Bernard Martinez, 45, of Keithville, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, March 7, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Shreveport, following a brief illness. Mr. Martinez was a merchant in Keithville, and a veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., on Monday, March 9, at the Osborn Funeral Home Chapel, Shreveport, with the Rev. Martin L. Spell, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery, under the direction of the Osborn Funeral Home of Shreveport. Pallbearers were James Procell, Cliff Bison, Robert Radford, Herbert Harris, Lonnie Martinez, and Leslie Spurgeon. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth Martinez of Keithville; his mother, Mrs. E. D. Thomas of Coushatta; two sons, Toby, who is stationed in San Diego, California, with the U. S. Navy, and Jerry Martinez of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Aubrey Fay Thornton, and Mrs. Marjorie Mae Burroughs, both of Houston, Texas; two brothers, E. C. Martinez of Ashland, and G. L. Martinez of Zwolle; six sisters, Mrs. Sidell Walker of Coushatta, Mrs. George Bush, and Mrs. H. F. Kennington Jr., both of Shreveport, Mrs. C. H. Barnhill of Many, Mrs. M. B. Walker of Ashland, and Mrs. Roy Loftin of Coushatta; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
