Officiating were the Rev. Mark Bray, pastor; former pastor, the Rev. George McVay; and the Rev. Jim Townsend. Burial followed in the Fort Jesup Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Eric Davis, Henry Maggio, Karl Martin, Patrick Phillips, Ron Steed, Tim Trapp, and John Flail. Mr. Martin, 81, died Sunday, July 7, at Dubois Hospital in Alexandria, following a lengthy illness. A veteran of World War II, he served in the United States Army. He was a dairy products distributor in Many prior to retirement. Mr. Martin is survived by his widow, Minnie Martin of Many; two sons, James Randal Martin and wife Carolyn of Many, and Thomas L. Martin and wife Carolyn of Leesville; four daughters, Donna E. Masson and husband John of Coulterville, Debbie Trapp and husband Vic of Anacoco, Dianne Phillips and husband Michael of Baton Rouge, and Tillie Martin of Many. He is also survived by a brother, Arnold Martin and wife Alice of Irving, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. T. and Ida Martin; three sisters, Winnie Webb, Sylverine Johnson, and Lanie Martin; and a special grandson, James Thomas Martin II.
