Murrell, 66, of Many, died on Saturday, April 20, after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Eula Mae Murrell of Many; three stepsons, Lloyd Eugene Johnson of Many, Jerry Kenneth Johnson of the U. S. Army, and Calvin Dean Smith of Many; four step daughters, Mrs. Patsy Merrill of Shreveport, Mrs. Janis Ammons of Many, Mrs. Suzanne Barron of Ruston, and Mrs. Johnnie Chism of Shreveport; a brother, James Murrell of New Orleans; a half brother, Olive Young of New Orleans, and 16 grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Oak Hill Baptist Church on Monday, April 22, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Tom McDaniel officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were John Gentry, Robert Oxley, Billy Ray Green, Robert Speights, Clarence Chism, and Harry Walker.
