All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Elsie Myers Moreland Memorial services were held on May 14, for Elsie Myers Moreland, 81, who died on May 12, 1990, at the Sabine Medical Center, after a short illness. Services were held at the Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, with Sister Pat officiating. Ms. Moreland was born on October 12, 1908, in Upper Hillville, Pa. The family moved to Mooringsport, La., when she was a child. She graduated from Centenary College with a degree in Mathematics and Chemistry. Her teaching career began in Oil City. She retired in 1973, after teaching 32 years in Greenwood, La. Upon retirement she moved to Zwolle. Ms. Moreland was preceded in death by her husband, T. Baker Moreland. Her survivors include one daughter, Ann Macmillan of San Diego, Calif.; two grandsons, Robert and Thomas Macmillan of San Diego County; one great grandchild, Anna Christene; one sister, Sue White of Bossier City; one brother, William Myers Jr. of Mooringsport; and five nieces; one nephew; and one very good friend, Mary Hodgins.
