Maroney, 71, were held at 3 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 1989, at Bethel Congregational Methodist Church in Pleasant Hill. Officiating was the Rev. Foster Jennings. Burial was at Beulah Cemetery near Marthaville, under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Mansfield. Mr. Maroney died Wednesday, March 8, 1989, in Coushatta, after a lengthy illness. He was a member of the Bethel Congregational Methodist Church, the American Legion Post, Olive Fair #300, the 40 and 8 Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Loyal Order of the Moose, Pleasant Hill Masonic Lodge #230, and El Karubah Shrine in Shreveport. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Maroney of Pleasant Hill; one daughter, Waverlyn Butler of Shreveport; three sons and daughters-in-law, Huey James and Mary Jane Maroney of Mansfield, Basilf Maroney of Mansfield, Larry B. and Janet Maroney of Pleasant Hill; one sister, Edna Wise; and brother-in-law, Otis of Shreveport; one brother and sister-in-law, James Maroney and Kathleen of Shreveport; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were members of the Masonic Lodge. The family requests that memorials be made to the Shriners Hospital in Shreveport.
