Officiating was Msgr. William O'Hanion, pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery. A rosary was said Thursday, March 22, at the funeral home. Mrs. Maranto passed away Wednesday, March 21, at her residence, following a sudden illness. She was a resident of Shreveport most of her life, and a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church. Mrs. Maranto was a retired Nurses Aide for Willis-Knighton Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Tuminello Sasser. Survivors include her husband, Henry J. Maranto of Shreveport; two sons, Bill J. Cornelious and his wife Paula of Shreveport, and Frank J. Maranto and his wife Sue of Many; three sisters, Pat Wilson, Ann Griffin, both of Shreveport, and Dora Garbo of Chicago, Illinois; one brother, Tony J. Tuminello of Shreveport; three grandchildren, Kim Wynn of College Station, Texas, Mark Cornelious of Shreveport, and Candice Maranto of Many; and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Joe Tuminello, Bo McIlwain, Dan Griffin, Ronnie Aldredge, Bo Holcomb, and Steven Sasser.
