Buvens, died suddenly at her home in Riverside, Calif., Monday. Mrs. Buvens, a former resident of Many, was the former Miss Ella Smith, the daughter of Senator and Mrs. J. T. Smith of Many. She is survived by four children, Mrs. J. M. Middleton, Many; Mrs. R. M. Saunders, Los Angles, Calif., Lt. Col. R. H. Buvens, Abeline, Texas and Miss Margaret Buvens, Riverside, Calif., and the following grandchildren: Elizabeth, Charles and William Middleton, Many; Mary Ella, Richard, Martha Ann, Janet and Patricia Buvens, Abilene, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. H. W. G. Bailey and Rev. C. W. Williams officiating, interment Warren cemetery, Dennis-Green funeral home in charge. Pallbearers were members of the American Legion, the deceased being a veteran of World War I: J. B. Vandegaer, T. M. Phillips, Robert B. Jackson, W. E. Curtis, Floyd Alford, and Van Vines. (Dillon) Peterson 13 Mar 1942 - Last rites for D. A. (Dillon) Peterson, age 34 years, were held Sunday at 2 o'clock at the home of his mother, Mrs. A. R. Peterson, Rev. J. D. Scott and Rev. Russell T. Pynes officiating, interment in the Many cemetery, Dennis-Green funeral home directing. Pallbearers were: O. B. Maxey, C. A. Hoagland, D. J. Derrick, R. L. Gay, Ruel Boone, Rupert Lucius, David Barker and D. Sliman, Jr. Surviving are wife, Mrs. A. R. Peterson; three brothers, W. E. Peterson of Monroe, Reuben and Tom of Many; grandmother, Mrs. E. C. Dillon as he was known to his many friends, passed away suddenly about 10 o'clock Saturday of heart failure. Wash Prewitt 6 Mar 1942 - Funeral services for G. Wash Prewitt, 84, who died at his residence in Hornbeck Feb. 24 at 9 p.m. were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the Good Hope Baptist church with the Rev. Allen Martin officiating. Interment was in the Good Hope cemetery under the direction of the Roberts funeral home of DeRidder. Deceased was another of the pioneer who served his country as best he could in the early days. He underwent many hardships that the present generation of people do not know but little if anything about. Yet he was faithful and upright in is life, stand-by in the time of need for reliable men. Deceased is survived by five daughters, Mrs. George Snell, Mrs. Elmer Brown and Mrs. M. H. Chance of Hornbeck, Mrs. L. A. Merritt of Silsbee, Texas, and Mrs. L. H. Addison of Port Arthur, Texas; three sons, Y. H. Prewitt and J. W. Prewitt of Anacoco and W. B.
