Father J. A. Benoit and Father H. W. Hubley of Alexandria officiated. Interment was under direction of the Dennis-Green funeral home. Pallbearers were: J. T. Vaco, Cullen Dowden, J. B. Corley, age 73, of Noble were sorry to hear of his sudden death Thursday morning. He was stricken with paralysis about 3:30 Thursday morning and lived only a short time. He was a member of the Carson Baptist Church of Zwolle, where he served faithfully for about 18 years and was well like by everyone who knew him. Funeral services were held Friday at three o'clock at Mt. Carmel. Rev. Joe Flanagan of Zwolle and Rev. Baggett of Noble officiated, interment Mt. Carmel cemetery, Drewitt funeral home in charge. Mr. Maxey, or Uncle Tom as he was known to his many friends, is the last of a large family, nine brothers and sisters preceding him. Lee Peace 26 Mar 1943 - News was received recently of the loss in action in Africa on Feb. 14 of Sgt. Lee Peace, son of Mrs. Pearl Peace and the late Bill Peace of Negreet. Sgt. Peace was one of two sons of Mrs. Peace, the other, Sgt. Jimmie Peace, is in training in Florida, Mrs. Lamon Cook of Florien, Mrs. Ruby Woodle of Negreet and Mrs. Mallory of Negreet are his sisters.
