The Sabine Index - Willie Pinkney Allen

  15 Mar 1946 - Willie Pinkney Allen, age 92, resident of
Pleasant Hill since 1907, died Sunday, March 3, at the home of
his son, Aud Allen at Pleasant Hill.

  He is survived by eight sons, Aud, R. C., D.A., C. L., O. W.,
J. B. and M. D. Allen, Pleasant Hill, and B. Allen, Blanchard;
six daughter, Mrs. J. L. Cox of Pleasant Hill, Mrs. J. W.
McCuller of Lake Charles, Mrs. Roy Ponder and Mrs. Sonnie
Mitchell of Benson, Mrs. Ralph Edwards of Memphis, Tenn., and
Mrs. Helen ward of Atlanta, Ga.

  Funeral services were held march 4 at Spring Ridge Baptist,
Rev. Hagan, pastor of Sodus church, officiating.

were held 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, at Antioch Baptist church.
Rev. W. G. Bailey officiated, Massingill funeral home in charge.

  Surviving are: wife, Mrs. C. B. Miller; three sons, T. P.
Miller, V. R. Miller, Elmer Miller; three daughters, Mrs. A. J.
Arnold, Mrs. W. H. Funderburk, Mrs. Victor Vaco.

The Sabine Index - Mrs. Lee Mims

  29 Mar 1946 - Mrs. Lee Mims, 63, life-long resident of
Marthaville, who died suddenly of a heart attack at her home 3
p.m. March 18, is survived by her husband, Lee Mims; 12 children,
H. A. Mims of Noble, John Mims of Sulphur; W. C. Mims of the U.S.
navy at New Orleans, H. E. and Cecil Mims of Marthaville, L. R.
Mims and Mrs. W. A. Rains of Bossier City, Mrs. Clara Walker of
Goldonna, Mrs. D. H. Cushing of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. James
McCain of Daredo, Texas, Mrs. Ralph Cooper of Joplin, Ma., and
Miss Gertie Mims of Hammond; eight grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held in Martahville Methodist church 2
p.m. Wednesday, March 20, under direction of Massingill funeral
home. The services was conducted by Rev. Ted Howse, pastor of the
church, assisted by Rev. J. C. Clement of Many. Interment was in
Rocky Mount cemetery.

  Pallbearers were: Dallis Lewis, Jack Bell, Albert Bell,
Herbert Sibley, George Dyson, Paul Dyson, Arthur Winn and J. P.
Rains.

The Sabine Index - E. W. (Happy) Moore

  8 Mar 1946 - E. W. (Happy) Moore, 53 years old, long resident
of Zwolle, passed away Feb. 22 after four month illness in a
Shreveport hospital. He was buried Sunday, Feb. 24 at Zwolle.

  Mr. Moore is survived by a half brother, Grover Weaver of
Shreveport and a nephew Carl Willis of Zwolle.

  Funeral services were at Zwolle Baptist church, conducted by
Rev. Jeff Holiday.

  Active pallbearers were: F. A. Keelen, Ed Jones, Jr., J.
O. Kimbrell, Jr., Herman Knouse, R. L. Fay, Joe Parrott.

  29 Mar 1946 - Funeral rites for Dave Mouser, age 62, were
held 2 p.m. last Thursday from Zwolle Methodist church. Rev.
James C. Whitaker officiated, Massingill funeral home in charge.

  Surviving are: wife; sons, Jack Reed, John D. and Charles E.,
all of Zwolle, Thomas E. of Oil City; daughters, Mrs. A. N. dew
and Miss Patsy Ruth Mouse of Zwolle; Mrs. Alfred Edgard of
Shreveport, Mrs. R. F. Pickens of Vivian, and six grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were: Ed Jones, Arthur Rivers, Joe B.
Parrott, F. A. Phillips, Elis Atkins and Ace Kimble. Honorary

The Sabine Index - Cecil W. Sims

  8 Mar 1946 - Funeral rites for Cecil W. Sims, age 25, were
held 3 p.m. Tuesday from Many Methodist church, Rev. Sam Nader,
pastor, officiated. Interment was in Fort Jesup cemetery,
Massingill funeral home directing.

  Pallbearers were: M. C. Hall, J. L. McDonald, A. L. Dailey, L.
N. Sliman, Lee Jordan, Charles Wright, Edward Wright, Joseph
Grappe.

  Surviving are: widow, Mrs. Vivian Mims, parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Mims; sister, Mrs. Wilton Anthony, all of Many;
two brothers, Martin Mims, Shreveport, and Malcolm Mimms of the
U.S. Navy.

  Mims was drowned Saturday night in Lake Loring while
attending a trot line., the boat hung up and capsized. Death was
attributed to accidental drowning by Dr. J. K. Phares, coroner.

  He had served four years in the armed Forces, one year of
which was overseas. IN the early part of the war in Germany he
was seriously wounded. He was senior vice commander of Ray Miller
post Veterans of Foreign Wars.

  15 Mar 1946 - Miss Margret Turnely, age tow years five
months, was buried 2:30 Sunday, March 3 at Fisher cemetery. Rev.
V. K. Fletcher of Florien officiated, Massingill funeral home in
charge. She suffered many pains during her life which ended March
2.

  Surviving are: a brother, James Morvon, mother, Dorothy
Turnely, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jones of Negreet; uncle and
aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Eulas Eason of Fisher, Mr. and Mrs. Joe

The Sabine Index - Dr. R. T. Williams, Sr.

  29 Mar 1946 - Friends of Dr. R. T. Williams, Sr., will be
sorry to learn of his death which occurred Monday, march 25, at
his mountain home near Tuscumbia, Mo., following a cerebral
hemorrhage. His remains will be interred in Kansas City, Mo.,
Friday, March 29.

  Dr. Williams wife and two sons, Major Reginald Wiliams and
Rev. R. T. Williams, pastor First Nazarene church, Oklahoma City,
Okla., were at his bedside when death came.

  Deceased was reared in Many, was the son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. N. A. Williams and brother of the late J. D. Williams.
