The Sabine Index - S. Tommy Bridges

  19 May 1944 - Last rites for S. Tommy Bridges, age four years,
were held Wednesday, 5 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist church. Rev.
C. H. Eliland officiated, Massingill funeral home in charge.

  Surviving are parents, one sister, six brothers, Grandmother
Bridges, Marincouin, and Grandmother Lacy, Marthaville.

The Sabine Index - Mrs. Mary E. Burke

  19 May 1944 - Funeral rites for Mrs. Mary E. Burke, age 84, were
held at 11 o'clock Tuesday at Little Flock church. Rev. W. G.
Bailey officiated. Interment was in Little Flock cemetery,
Massingill funeral home in charge.

  Surviving are one son, John B. Burke, Pasadena, Texas; three
daughters, Mrs. A. A. Speight of Florien with whom she made her
home, Mrs. S. B. Meaux of Perry and Mrs. Myrtle Decker of
Houston, Texas, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

  19 May 1944 - Funeral rites for Elbert Neal Haley, age 87 years,
were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Belmont. Rev. C. H. Eliland
officiated, interment Belmont cemetery under direction of the
Massingill funeral home.

  Surviving are wife, Mollye Haley; two sons, J. C. Haley of
Cypress, S. H. Haley of Roby, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. C. L.
Carter, Mrs. O. C. Heard, Belmont; three sisters, four half
brothers, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren..

  26 May 1944 - Last rites for Joshua A. Ayres, age 70 years, were
held 4:30 p.m. last Thursday at Beulah. Rev. Russell T. Pynes
officiated, interment Beulah cemetery, Massingill funeral home in
charge.

  Surviving are: wife, Mrs. Mary Ellen Ayres; two sons, John of
Many and Aaron of Ringgold; two daughters, Mrs. R. L. Cryer of
Many and Mrs. Louis Cryer of Fisher; 18 grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
