The Sabine Index - Joseph J. Ebarb

  2 May 1947 - Joseph J. Ebarb, age 88, died at his home near
Zwolle last Friday. Funeral services were conducted at St.
Joseph's Catholic church 9 a.m. Saturday, Father Robert Friend
officiating. Interment was under direction Massingill funeral
home. Pallbearers were six grandsons.

  Surviving relatives are: sons, H. S. Ebarb of Many, Abram ,
George and Simon Ebarb of Zwolle, William Ebarb of Homer and Tom
L. Ebarb of Many; daughters, Mrs. Tom Malmay; Mrs. J. W.
Nigreville, Mrs. J. H. Ezernack and Mrs. Dorothy Bison, all of
Zwolle.

  Mr. Ebarb was one of Sabine's oldest citizens, having been born
and reared in the parish.

  16 May 1947 - Funeral services for Mrs. J. C. Leonard, age 63
years, who died of a heart attack at her home in Zwolle last
Wednesday, were held Friday from the family residence.

  Surviving are: her husband, three sons, J. W. of Shreveport, J.
T. and Calvin, both of Zwolle; three daughters, Mrs. Don Gibbs.
Zwolle, Mrs. Berry Knippers, Moreauville,, Mrs. Naomi Cullumber,
Welsh, a sister, Mrs. John Veuleman, Bayou Scie community.

  Interment was in Fenders cemetery, near Many, under direction
Massingill funeral home.

  9 May 1947 - Funeral services for Nathaniel Elmo Parrott, age 72
years, who died at his home near DeRidder Wednesday, April 30,
were held Friday, May 2, from Hixon's chapel in DeRidder with the
Rev. Brown of DeRidder, Rev. C. W. Williams, pastor, DeRidder
Baptist church, and Rev. C. W. Fields, pastor, Leesville Baptist
church officiating.

  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hattie LaCaze Parrott of DeRidder,
two daughters, Mrs C. V. LeMay of DeRidder and Mrs. Vick Ferguson
of Leesville; one brother, Ambrose Parrott of Noble; four
sisters, Mrs. H. H. Thomas, Zwolle, Mrs. Dave Dykes, Noble, Ms.
Othel Lovell, Homer, and Mrs. Inez Bailey, Shreveport; one
grandson, Glynn McKenney and granddaughter, Freddie Catherine
Seigler, both of DeRidder.

  Mr. Parrott was the sons of the late Thomas Parrott and Martha
Tyler Parrott and a member of one of the first families to settle
in Sabine parish.

  Interment was in DeRidder cemetery under direction Hixon funeral
home of DeRidder.

to rest at Mt. Carmel 2 p.m. Wednesday of last week, following
her death at the family home hear Florien after a short illness.

Thomas and her five sons.
