  Mrs. Essie Rae Nicks - March 10, 1988

  Mrs. Essie Rae Nicks, 68, of Port Arthur died Thursday, February
18, at Park Place Hospital.

  Funeral services were at 3:30 p.m. Friday, February 19 at
Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with burial in Greenlawn
Memorial Park.

  A native of Fisher, La., she lived in the Port Arthur-Groves
area 45 years and was a retired vocational nurse from Dr.
Lanier's office.

  Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Sheppard of Groves; two
sons, Jerry L. Nicks of Bridge City and Dr. Robert Eddie Nicks of
Hamsphire; three sisters, Daisy Bodie of Bastrop; Jessie Mae
heard of West Monroe, La. and Mary Jane Goss of Florien, La.; and
seven grandchildren.
