The body of Mrs. Nichols was recovered Wednesday, June 26, from its burial hiding place in a garden at the family home, according to Caddo Parish Sheriff Jimmy Goslin. The body was recovered by deputies, following a report that the woman's disappearance involved foul play. James Martin Nichols, 50, the woman's husband, was arrested by Caddo deputies, and charged with homicide in connection with the shotgun slaying. The shooting allegedly took place on Thursday, June 20, following an argument. The woman had been buried in a garden. Her husband had begun to build a 4' X 6' shed over the burial spot. Six bags of ready-mix cement had been poured over the garden grave. Survivors included her daughter, Mrs. Wilma Ann Stanfield of Zwolle.
