Mr. Niswanger died on April ll,2000 in Lubbock,Texas. He was a member of the Forsythe Church of Christ. Mr. Niswanger was a 4-H Club Leader and a business leader in Ouachita Parish. He was a Navy veteran and serve in Okinawa. Mr. Niswanger owned and operated Consolidated Truck Parts in Monroe and Consolidated Cattle Company in West Texas. He was a supporter of Ouachita Christian School and was an avid fisherman. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Marylin Niswanger of Monroe; daughter, Ray Lynn Smith and husband Jack of Oak Point, Texas; son, Joe Niswanger and wife Deborah of Many; grandchildren, Carey Ray Smith of lrving, Texas; Terry Lane Smith and wife Kristin of Piano, Texas; Susan Smith of Denver,' Col.; Rudy Niswanger, Jodee Niswanger and Fritz Niswanger, all of Monroe; mother, Agnes Karels; sister, Kathy Kelly; brother, Gene Karels and wife Millie, all of Waco, Texas.
