All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Clyde Nugent Funeral services for Clyde Elliott Nugent, 57, of Welsh, were held at the Hixon Funeral Home Chapel, in Welsh, Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 4 p.m. Ben E. Bass Jr., of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officiated, assisted by Bishop Hanson Peterson of Lake Charles, and President Mach Haves Jr. of Many. Burial followed in Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh. Nugent, a former resident of Many, was a retired self employed industrial mechanic. A man with a multitude of friends, Nugent had passed away at the Jennings American Legion Hospital, at 11 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12, following a lengthy illness. He had served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and was stationed in France and England. Nugent was a member of Welsh Masonic Lodge 232, F&AM, Veteran of Foreign Wars, Post 3686 at Jennings, and the Woodmen of the World, Camp 176. He is survived by his wife, Maurice Hays Nugent of Welsh; three daughters, Mrs. Breman (Pat) Baker of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mrs. Jimmy (Jan) Freeland of Welsh, and Miss Debbie Nugent of Rexburg, Idaho; one brother, Earl Nugent of Walsenburg, Colorado; three sisters, Mrs. Jack Teall of Lake Charles, Mrs. Jim Verrett of Welsh, and Mrs. Lincoln Morow of Welsh, and five grandchildren.
