Mrs. Catherine Newton

  Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Newton, were held Saturday,
March 4, 1989, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Burial was in the
New Jerusalem Cemetery, under the direction of Thomas Mortuary.

  Mrs. Newton passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 1989, at her home in
Many, at the age of 110 years old.

  She leaves to cherish her memory, four daughters, Mrs. Bernice
Neal, Mrs. Bertha Johnson, Mrs. Emma Thomas, and Mrs. Dinah
Joseph; one son, Mr. Selvin Newton, all of Many; one son-in-law,
one daughter-in-law of Many; 28 grandchildren; 60 great
grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a
grandson-in-law, granddaughters-in-law, and a host of other
relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by four sons,
and two daughters.
