Officiating was the Rev. William F. Tice Sr., pastor of the First Wesleyan Methodist Church, Bossier City, assisted by Terry Williams, Minister of Youth and Yong Adults, at First Wesleyan Methodist Church. Interment was at Pine Knott Cemetery, at 2 p.m., in Many, La., with Father Williams officiating. Mr. Noel, a native of Port Arthur, Texas, died in Shreveport, Thursday, May 4, 1989. He was a teacher at Trinity Heights Christian Academy, and a member of the First Wesleyan Methodist Church of Bossier City. He was a graduate of N.W. State University. A graduate of Negreet High School, Noel was active in sports, having played varsity basketball for three years, and ran track for two years. Charlie was a member of FFA, and FBLS for two years. He served as FBLA president for one year, and served on the newspaper staff as sports editor for two years. As achiever in academics as well, Noel attended the District Literary Rally for four years, and the State Literary Rally two years. He was his junior class president, and was the senior class funds committee chairman. Noel was voted in 1983-84 as Negreet High School's Most Likely to Succeed, and he graduated in 1984, as class valedictorian. The faculty of NHS remember Charlie as a courteous, well mannered student, who was jovial, and always had a smile for everyone. Noel is said to have been good natured, very dependable, and well liked by both faculty and staff. Mr. Noel is survived by his wife, Suzanne Fox Noel of Shreveport; his mother and father, Louis Ray and Linda Noel of Many; one daughter, Bethany Rene Noel of Shreveport; one sister, Susan M. Noel of Natchitoches; his maternal grandfather, Patrick J. Darcy of Port Arthur, Tex.; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Noel of Many; and his paternal great grandmother, Mrs. Annie Guillory of Port Barre, La. Pallbearers were Tim Murphrey, Doug Sands, Jackie Sayles, Ronnie Hines, Chuck Gray, and Mike Stewart. The family suggests that memorials be made to Trinity Heights Christian Academy, or the American Cancer Society.
