The Rev. Bill Stowell, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where Mr. Neel was a member, officiated. Graveside services were at 3 p.m. at Antioch Cemetery near Florien, La. Mr. Neel, a resident of Shreveport most of his life, died at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 27, 1988 at Willis Knighton Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born in Negreet. La. Mr. Neel was retired from Geo. A. Hormel Packing Co. and was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elouise Miller Neel of Shreveport; three sons, Frank Neel of Waskom, Texas, Eddie Neel and Jerry Neel of Shreveport; one daughter, Ginger Neel Hill of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Homer Neel and Leeman Neel of Florien, La.; nine grandchidlren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Huey Dalton, D. C. Davison, Joe Key, Jerrell Neel, Larry Ross and Bobby Stanley.
