Grover Cornell Nelson, Sr.

  Services for Grover Cornell Nelson, Sr., 56, of Los Angeles,
Calif., were held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 28, at the New
Jerusalem Baptist Church in Many. The Rev. Richard McNeal
officiated. Burial was at New Jerusalem Cemetery. Jenkins Funeral
Home was in charge.

  Mr. Nelson died on June 17, in Los Angeles. He was a native of
Florien.

  He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mae Francis Nelson of Calif.;
his mother, Mrs. Nettie Miller; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Palmer
of Lake Charles, and Dorothy Miller of Florien; one brother, Mr.
George Nelson of Florien; one daughter, Ms. Jeannette Nelson;
three sons, Mr. Grover C. Nelson Jr., Ray Nelson, and George
Edward Nelson, all of Calif.; two grandchildren, Ms. Dawanna
Cannon, and Mr. Damon Williams of Calif.; two great
grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and
friends.

  The pallbearers were Reuben Miller, Mack L. Conley, Carl Lilly
Jr., Robert Sweet, Otis Johnson, and Robert Johnson.
