Nelson Services were conducted at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel for Thurman M. Nelson, 68, at 1 p.m., Friday, December 15. Burial followed in the Centuries Memorial Park. Mr. Nelson entered into rest Wednesday, December 13, at his residence, following a sudden illness. He was a native of Coushatta, and had lived in Shreveport all of his life. He was a member of Scottish Rite, a 32nd degree mason of the Caddo Lodge, El Karubah Shriner, VFW Post #6, at Cross Lake, Roofers Union #59, and a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Nelson was employed at Libbey-Owens Ford Glass Company for 35 years. He is survived by one son, T. M. (Tim) Nelson Jr. of Greenville, North Carolina; one daughter, Donna Nelson Lang of Shreveport; one brother, F. E. Nelson of Sulphur; one sister, Dora Lee McDonald of Many; four grandchildren, Trey Hawkins, Angela Lang, Nelson Lang, and Jessica Lang.
