Charles William Nelson, Jr.

  Funeral services were held for Charles William Nelson Jr., age
86, at 2 p.m., on Thursday, July 23, at Pleasant Hill Baptist
Church, Ward 2.

  The Rev. Roy Dowden, and Rev. J. D. Brown officiated. Burial was
held in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Warren
Meadows Funeral Home.

  Mr. Nelson died on Monday, July 20, at Schumpert Medical Center
in Shreveport.

  He is survived by two sons, Dean Nelson of Many, Pat Nelson of
Florien; three daughters, Marlene Pugh of Florien, Bobby Wood of
Port St. Joe, Fla., Debra Carefoot of Port St. Joe, Fla.; one
sister, Emma Nelson of Florien; 13 grandchildren; 8 great
grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
