Archie R. Newman

  Funeral services for Archie R. Newman of Florien, were held at
the Toro Baptist Church on Saturday, March 7, at 2 p.m. The Rev.
Benny Crittenden officiated. Burial was in the Toro Cemetery,
under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Pallbearers were Doyle Lopez, Buster Chism, Gene Craft, Mouse
Powell, Hubbert Semmons, and Oscar Ford.

  Mr. Newman died at 1:15 a.m., on Friday, March 6, in Schumpert
Medical center in Shreveport. He was 78.

  Survivors include his widow, Edith Mae Newman of Florien; three
sons, Raymond Newman of Florien, Archie L. Newman of Midolothia,
Tex., and William F. Newman of Bossier City; three daughters, Sue
Livingston of Many, Ella Chism of Many, Reba Martinez of Los
Osas, Calif.; one sister, Jewel Lewing of Many; 20 grandchildren,
and ten great grandchildren.
