H. Norwood of Converse was drowned Tuesday while swimming in Sabine river at Bailey's camp. Young Norwood was enjoying an outing with his father and others on the river when he suddenly got into deep water and not being able to swim well was swept under by the current and efforts to rescue him failed until too late. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Old Union church being conducted by the Rev. H. T. Isgitt with burial in Old Union cemetery, Drewitt Funeral Home in charge. Deceased is survived by his father and mother and one sister, Mildred, all of Converse.
