Mr. Norwood was a native of Lula Community, and a lifelong resident of the Benson, La. area. He was a retired school bus driver, a farmer, and a member of the Old Union Baptist Church, Woodmen of the World, and was a Mason. Services were held at Old Union Baptist Church in Benson, on Monday, Feb. 20, 1989, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Truitt Murphy officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield, La. Survivors include his wife, Isolene Brown Norwood of Benson; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Maxine Norwood of Pine Bluff, Ark., Richard and Jeanette Norwood of Mansfield, La., Ronald Glenn and Sally Norwood of Benson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nadine and Marshall Reed of Terrell, Tex., Dianne and Del Worth of Mesquite, Tex.; one sister, Alabama Austin of Mansfield; six grandchildren, John Ray Norwood, Michael Norwood, Kim Norwood, Amanda Worth, Mark Worth, Pam Norwood Strickel and husband Doug. Pallbearers were Donald Wayne Norwood, Harold Ford, J. C. Bissell, Charles Ray Bissell, Glen Myers, B. E. Wilburn.
