The Sabine Index - Robert Gibbons Bozeman

  22 Nov 1940 - Last rites for Robert Gibbons Bozeman, age 81 years,
five months and 18 days, were held last Thursday at Spring Ridge,
interment in Spring Ridge cemetery, Mrs. Slaton of Mansfield
officiating.  Dennis-Green funeral home of Many directing.

  Active pallbearers were great nephews:  Talmadge, Asbury, Helald and
W. T. Bozeman, Jim and Robert Callens.

  Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Jessie Mae Bozeman; four sons,
Blanchard of Belmont, Robert of New York, Mack of Belmont and Charlie
of Baton Rouge; five daughters, Mrs. Pike Williams of El Paso, Texas,
Mrs. William Dicks of Dunbarton, S. C., Mrs. Flourney of Carthage,
Texas, Miss Sunshine Bozeman of McAllen, Texas, Miss Caroline Bozeman
of Belmont; eight grandchildren, also two sisters, Mrs .J. A.
Armstrong of Belmont and Mrs. Callie Freeman of Ajax.

The Sabine Index - Jennie McInnis

  29 Nov 1940 - Mrs. Jennie McInnis died Monday and was buried Tuesday
in the Beckom graveyard.  Before her marriage she was Jennie Byrd.
She married Norman McInnis, who died several years ago.  They were
pioneers in this section of the country when it was not very thickly
populated.  Having spent most of their lives in this parish they will
be greatly missed.  Aunt Jennie was loved by all.  She believed in
doing her part in most anything.  Her children and a host of friends
are left to mourn her death.

The Sabine Index - Mrs. J. L. Royal

  29 Nov 1940 - Last rites for Mrs. J. L. Royal, age 76 years, were
held at Antioch church Sunday, November 17, at 2 p.m., Rev. W. G.
Bailey officiating, Dennis-Green funeral home directing.  Active
pallbearers were: Harold Dees, V. L. Leach, W. G. Dees, Melvin and
Melton Wright, Albert Royal, Claiborn Salter and Travis Miller.

  Surviving are the following children:  W. E. Royal, J. A. Royal,
M. D. Royal, Mrs. V. L. Leach, Mrs. Victor Wright, Mrs. W. B. Miller
and Claude Royal, also 31 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

  Interment was in the Antioch cemetery.

  1 Nov 1940 -Last rites for Mrs. Annie S. Speights, age 79 years,
were held last Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Little Flock Church, Rev.
W. G. Bailey officiating, the Dennis-Green funeral home of Many
conducting the funeral.

  Surviving are three sons, Joel W. Speights, president of the
Sabine parish police jury, Lemeul C. and Ernest Speights; two
daughters, Mrs. Alma Box and Mrs. Mary Tate; 16 grandchildren
and four great grandchildren.

The Sabine Index - Hessie Parrott Vines

22 Nov 1940 - Funeral services for Mrs. Hessie Parrott Vines, 54, who
died at her home here after a long illness, were held at the Quirk
cemetery Thursda6y, 15th, with Rev. J. D. Scott of Calvary Baptist
church officiating.  Dennis Green funeral home in charge.

The pallbearers were:  Raleigh Patrick, Robert Patric, Evlyn Patrick,
Elden Dees, K. C. Peterson, Floyd Alford, J. M. Belisle and Charles
Williams.

Mrs. Vines is survived by her husband, Henry Vines; two daughters,
Mrs. Oree Vines of Shreveport and Miss Hazel Vines of Many; one son,
Kingdom Vines; her father, W. T. Parrott; one brother Willie Parrott,
and one sister Mrs. Polly Davis, Miami, Fla.

Mrs. Vines was born and reared in Sabine, coming from a pioneer
family.  She was a great lover of flowers and her flower yard was
among the prettiest in Many.  She will be greatly missed by her
neighbors and friends.
