The Sabine Index - John Henry Adams

  6 Nov 1942 - Last rites for John Henry Adams, age 64 years, were
held Tuesday evening at two o'clock at the Calvary Baptist
church, Rev. Eugene Howard and Rev. C. W. Williams officiating.
Interment was in Mt. Carmel cemetery under direction of
Dennis-Green funeral home.

  Surviving are wife, Mrs. Mary Adams, and two children, Miss
Thelma Lee Adams of Many and Caleb Adams of Many; two brothers,
Melvin Adams of Faulk, Ark., and Kelly Adams of Texarkana, Ark.

  Mr. Adams was a member of the Mt. Carmel Masonic lodge.

  20 Nov 1942 - Last rites for Fred R. Alford, age 68 years, were
held last Wednesday evening at 3 o'clock at Zion Hill, Rev. C. W.
Williams officiating, interment in Negreet cemetery under the
direction of Dennis-Green funeral home.

  Surviving are wife, Elizabeth Alford, and eight children: two
sons, Percy and Loyd of Many; six daughters, Mrs. O. L. Ammons,
Mrs. Dell Tarpley, Mrs. Nettie Maxey, Mrs. Nell Maxey, Mrs Bertha
Hippler and Mrs. Mettie Randolph, all of Many; one brothers, L.
C. of Many; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lou Blackwell of Dess and Mrs.
Bessie Kilbourn of Hemphill, Texas.

The Sabine Index - Lawrence Johnson

  6 Nov 1942 - Funeral rites for Lawrence Johnson, age 18 years,
who was killed in a truck accident Wednesday at Marshall, Texas,
will be held today at 3:30 p.m. from the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.
C. Johnson, his foster parents, Rev. Pratt McCloud of Leesville
officiated. Interment will be in the Fenders cemetery under the
direction of Dennis-Green funeral home.

  Surviving are his foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Johnson, of
Many; one brother, Bill Moorhead; four sisters, Mattie Lou and
Pauline Moorhead, Mrs. Fay Moffett, all of Marshall, Texas and
Mrs. Lottie Manasco of Many.

  27 Nov 1942 - Last rites for Fred Pearce, age 45 years, were
held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Frank Peterson of
Zwolle, Rev. Joe Flanagan officiating. Interment was in family
cemetery near Zwolle, Dennis-Green funeral home directing.

  Surviving are four brothers, W. H. of Many, Mack of Zwolle,
Douglas of Fort Bragg, N. C., and Sam of McGee, Ark.; two
sisters, Mrs. D. F. Peterson and Mrs. Jim Peterson.
