Green officiating, Massingill funeral home in charge. Pallbearers were: Mr. Winn, Claude McComic, Mr. McCants, Nelson Owens, Mr. Chambers, R. S. Salter, Mr. McAllen, Mr. Brown. Surviving are: husband, W. O. Russell, Fisher; three sons, Ralph of Fisher, Neil of U. S. Army, Harry of Port Arthur, Texas; one daughter, Mildred of Velasco, Texas; eight grandchildren. Monsignor N. F. Vandegaer of Monroe was the celebrant of the requiem high mass. Father John C. Vandegaer of Lake Providence gave the sermon. Father J. A. Benoit officiated in the funeral rites. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery, Massingill funeral home in charge. Pallbearers were: O. E. William, J. J. Blake, W. R. Robinson, C. J. Hubley, Wm. H. Ponder and J. M. Belisle. Surviving are two sisters, Miss Eula Vandegaer and Mrs. Mary Vandegaer Scott, both of Houston, Texas. Miss Vandegaer passed away at Houston, Texas Sunday after a long illness. She was the youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leo Vandegaer and an niece of W. H. Joe Flanagan, pastor, Zwolle Baptist church, officiating. Burial was in Noble cemetery. He was a member of Zwolle camp W.O.W. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Laura E. Moss of Zwolle; two sons, James of the U. S. army, Camp Gruber, Okla., and Luther Franklin, Cedar Grove,; one daughter, Mrs. H. A. Strickland of Zwolle; two granddaughters, Barbara Arlene and Ellen Charlene Moss, Cedar Grove; one sister, Mrs. W. D. Rev. Jeff Holliday and Rev. W. J. Ross officiated. Massingill funeral home of Many directed. Pallbearers were: Thomas hardy, Roy Bridges, A. J. Barron, Mr. Graves, Mr. Ross and Mr. Adams. Surviving are: tow nieces, Mrs. daisy Allen, Tyler, Texas, Mrs. Florence M. Allmeter, Texarkana, Texas; adopted daughters, Mrs. Mattie Adams of Pleasant Hill, Mrs. Elizabeth Bertrand of Mamou; granddaughter, Miss Hazel Adams, Pleasant Hill, and grandson, Jewel Adams, Beaumont, Texas. Mrs. Thomas had passed her 96th year and had spent most of her life at or near Pleasant Hill. For a few years she lived at Ida.
