Rev. Father J. A. Benoit officiating. Interment was in St. John's cemetery, under direction Massingill funeral home. Surviving are: wife, Mrs. Loe of Many; two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Isgitt and Miss Isabell Abraham of Alexandria. Thornton Parrott 1 Nov 1946 - Last rites for W. Thornton Parrott, age 89, were held 10 a.m. Friday at the Pilgrim's Rest cemetery. Rev. Lastie N. Hoffpauir officiated. Interment was in the Pilgrim's Rest cemetery, under the direction of Massingill funeral home. Pallbearers were: E. M. Patrick, Rollie Patrick, Cecil Parrott, Van Vines, Henry Vines, and T. M. Phillips. Surviving are: sons, Willie Parrot of Many; daughter, Mrs. B. L. Davis, Miami, Fla.; sisters, Mrs. R. L. Patrick, and Mrs. W. T. Alford, both of Many ; and six grandchildren. All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - Mrs. Ida Melton Sims 1 Nov 1946 - Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Melton Sims, age 87 years, who died at the home of her sons in Zwolle 1:35 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, were held 2:30 p.m. Sunday from Siloam Methodist church, near Jonesboro, with the pastor officiating. Mrs. Sams was born in the state of Alabama and spent the greater part of her life in Jackson parish. She was a member of the Jonesboro Methodist church. Surviving are: five sons, L. P. Sims, Minden, J. Y. Sims,. Leesville, S. L. Sims, West Monroe, T. W. Sims, Olla, J. S. Sims, Zwolle; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren as well as a host of relatives who mourn her death. Surviving are: husband, Alex Small; six sons, Buck, Jack, Carson, Hoyt and Mack Small all of Many and Andrew Small of the U. S. army; six daughters, Mrs. T. J. McCollister, Logansport, Mrs. A. L. Holcomb, Mrs. Jack Maxey, Mrs. B. C. McCollister, all of Many, Mrs. Howard Wright, Negreet, and Mrs. Ralph Brooks, Los Angeles, Calif. Mrs. Small died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jack Maxey in Many.
