Jordan 28 Nov 1947 - Funeral rites for J. E. Jordan, age 76 years, were conducted at Mt. Carmel Baptist church 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 by Rev. W. G. Bailey, assisted by Rev. M. L. Delk. Interment was under direction Massingill funeral home. The Masonic lodge had charge of services at the grave. He passed away last Friday at his home near Florien after a long illness. Surviving relatives include a daughter, Miss Sally Jordan of Florien and a large number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Jordan had been a member of Kisatchie lodge Free and Accepted Masons No. 156 for 50 years. He served for many years as justice of the peace in ward one, having recently married grandchildren of couples he married may years past.
