The Sabine Index - Mrs. George Arnold

  14 Nov 1947 - Mrs. George Arnold, age 74, died at the home of
her son after a long illness. Last rites were conducted at Little
Flock Baptist church at 3 p.m. Wednesday by Rev. W. G. Bailey.
Interment was under direction Massingill funeral home.

  Surviving relatives are sons, Hoy Arnold, L. D. Watkins,
Silsbee, Texas, W. L. Watkins Florien; daughter Mrs. J. C.
Fondren, Florien, Mrs. Alvin Byrd, Houston; sister, Mrs. Aver
Arnold, Oxford, Miss; brother Dr. J. C. Miller, Daucett, Texas;
10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren.

The Sabine Index - Gladys Barnard

  14 Nov 1947 - Mrs. Gladys Barnard, age 34, passed away at her
home in Fisher after an long illness. Funeral services were
conducted at Fisher Baptist church 10 a.m. last Friday by Rev. E.
E. Fields of Leesville. Interment was at Castor cemetery near
Leesville under direction Massingill funeral home of Many.

  Curving relatives are: husband, Rev. W. G. Barnard, pastor
Fisher Baptist church, daughter, Miss Ruth Marte Barnard, Fisher;
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stephens, Slagle; brothers, Edward
and Midford Stephens, Port Arthur, Texas, Everett Stephens,
Pasagoula, Miss., Milton Stephens, Landcaster, Texas.

  Pallbearers were: John Chambers, C. D. Wier, Walter Masters, M.
R. Harrison, C. F. Salter and Horace Blackmon.

The Sabine Index - William J. Bullard

  28 Nov 1947 - William J. Bullard, age 75 years, was laid to rest
at Belmont Nov. 17. He was claimed by death at Prothro clinic,
Pleasant Hill, after a long illness. Interment was under
direction Massingill funeral home.

  Mr. Bullard is survived by is wife, Mrs. W. J. Bullard, Belmont;
daughters, Miss Gertrude Bullard, Belmont, Mrs. Mable Bruce,
Pleasant Hill, Mrs. W. A. Greer, Pineville; sons, Charles and
John Bullard, Belmont; brothers, R. L. Bullard, Epps, Edd
Bullard, Shreveport, sister, Mrs. Emma Tyler, Cotton Valley, Mrs.
Evie Tyler, Mansfield; 10 grandchildren and two great

The Sabine Index - Lucinda Collins

  14 Nov 1947 - Funeral services for Mrs. Lucinda Collins, age 67,
who died at her home at Zwolle, were conducted at the graveside
in Clyde cemetery by Rev. Joe Flanagan of DeRidder 3 p.m. Monday.
Interment was under Massingill funeral home.

  Mrs. Collins is survived by: sister, Mrs. Clara Barber, Zwolle,
Mrs. Lizzie Lowe, Benson, Mrs. Mattie Lanagan, Orange, Texas,
brothers, W. C., I. C. and R. B. Cambell, all of Zwolle.

The Sabine Index - J. E. Jordan

  28 Nov 1947 - Funeral rites for J. E. Jordan, age 76 years, were
conducted at Mt. Carmel Baptist church 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22
by Rev. W. G. Bailey, assisted by Rev. M. L. Delk. Interment was
under direction Massingill funeral home. The Masonic lodge had
charge of services at the grave. He passed away last Friday at
his home near Florien after a long illness.

  Surviving relatives include a daughter, Miss Sally Jordan of
Florien and a large number of nieces and nephews.

  Mr. Jordan had been a member of Kisatchie lodge Free and
Accepted Masons No. 156 for 50 years. He served for many years as
justice of the peace in ward one, having recently married
grandchildren of couples he married may years past. He was active
in civic and community work.

Longview Texas hospital Oct. 29. Last rites were conducted at Mt.
Freedom Baptist church 10 a.m. Oct. 31 by Rev. W. M. Greer pastor
Calvary Baptist church Many. Interment was in Many cemetery under
direction Massingill funeral home.

  Surviving relatives are daughter, Mrs. J. M. Winn, Longview,
Texas; sons, Ted of Mamshire, Texas, W. J. Carthage, Texas, W. J.
Carthage, Texas, Riley, Port Arthur, Texas, Willie, Louis and
Oscar McCormic, all of Many, daughters, Mrs. Jack Britt and Mrs.
Elizabeth Brooks, Many, brother, Willie Eldridge Shreveport, a
large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

were conducted 2:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at Little Flock church by Rev.
W. G. Bailey. Interment was under direction Massingill funeral
home.

  Surviving relatives are: sisters, Mrs. Hamp William, Florien,
Mrs. Hugh Simpson, Many, Mrs. Lovie Smith, Robeline, brothers, S.
P. Woodle, Negreet, Oscar and Bob Woodle, Many; step-son A. G.
Stewart, Leesville, and two grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were: Leo Miller, Jim Peace, Buey Woodle, Joe Lance
Speight, Floyd Stroud.

  Mr. Woodle had made his home with his nephew and wife, Mr. and
Mrs. John Woodle of Negreet for nine years.
