Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Virgie Oxley of Hornbeck; four sons, Riley Oxley of Jackson, Miss., W. L. Oxley of Dallas, Tex.; Johnny Oxley of Memphis, Tenn., and A. Dean Oxley of Shreveport; four daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Sullivan of Claude, Tex., Mrs. Lucille Glass of Magalean, Tex., Mrs. Marie Bynum of Hornbeck, and Mrs. Rosie Melancon of Mississippi; two sisters, Mrs. Zilfie Darden of Leesville, and Mrs. Mary Springer of DeRidder; a brother, Frank Oxley of Center, Tex., and 23 grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday, May 12, at 2 p.m., at the Hornbeck First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roy Dowden officiating. Burial was in the Oxley Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
