All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Ottis Gordon Oxley Funeral services for Mr. Ottis Gordon Oxley of Dubai, (an Arab Sheikdom), were held at Oak Hill Baptist Church on Friday, October 28, at 2 p.m., with Bros. Elsie Walker, V. L. Prewitt, and W. T. Love officiating. Burial was Friday, November 4, at 4 p.m., in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Oxley died at 6 p.m., October 21, 1983, at the Rashid Hospital, Abu Khabi in Dubai. He was 50 years of age. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. B. B. Oxley of Dubai; one son, Jakey Oxley, Negreet; four daughters, Mrs. Diane Rule, Negreet, Terrie Jarrell, Evans, Miss Laura Oxley, Evans, and Mrs. Colleen Crow, Walkerville; one step son, Ronnie Gilmore, Vidor, Tex.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Oxley, Many; one brother, Charles Oxley, Vivian; three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and two nieces, Cindy Oxley Stevens, and Angie Oxley Moore. Pallbearers were Ralph Jones, Reggie Malone, Buddy Veuleman, Reginald Stroud, Kenneth Speight, Mike Simpson, Tom Avonshire, and Carl Beavers. Honorary pallbearers were Buddy McCollister, J. C. Walker, Carl Sloam, Bo Hopkins, Jarriet Ketchum, Mo Dawson, Joe Hall, Joe Arthur, David Gee, John Sullivan, Billy Joe Peterson, A. J. Stroud, Leonard Kline, and the crew of Trans-World Rig Number 63.
