Mrs. Oxley was born on May 24, 1933, in Robeline, Louisiana, the daughter of Mrs. R. E. Stewart, and the late Mr. R. E. Stewart. She is survived by her husband, Bob Oxley, and one daughter, Lisa Oxley, both of Austin, Tex.; her mother, Mrs. R. E. Stewart of Robeline; one sister, Elaine Nippert of Orange, California; and two brothers, Dr. R. E. Stewart of Athens, Georgia, and Norman Stewart of Sierra Vista, Arizona. She also is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mrs. Oxley lived most of her youth in southern California with her family. The Stewart family moved back to Robeline in 1948, where she graduated from Many High School, and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Her first semester of college was at Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, Oklahoma. After Mrs. Oxley was married, she and her husband, Bob, lived in Texas and Colorado, before moving to the Canal Zone in Panama, where they lived for 20 years. Their daughter, Lisa was born in Panama. They made annual trips to the states during the summer, to vacation, and visit with family members. While living in Panama, Mrs. Oxley worked as a secretary for the Panama Canal Commission. In August of 1985, Mr. Oxley retired from his teaching career, and the family moved back to Austin, Tex., where she resided until her death.
